Stories Around The World

It is a tradition in our school to celebrate the World Storytelling Day. This year it greatly addressed our annual project as we have travelled around the world through stories. The most beautiful childhood stories were presented to E2, E3, E5 and MYP1 students and 6th graders of the national programme by our storytellers: Fiona, Jadran, Mara, Maya, Noora, Pinar and Yuxuan. We visited Indonesia, Dubai, Canada, Ghana, Estonia, Turkey and China.

Our young storytellers' aim was to tell and share the most beautiful stories from their countries of origin or the countries they had lived before in order to inspire students to listen, read and think about them.

And why exactly are stories important? Because stories teach us about life, and we become more imaginative and better people. Stories cheer us up! Is there anything nicer than a gift of a story and a big smile? We can find an answer in the students' Thinking Hats Reflections where they reflect about the whole event in an entertaining way.
