A visit by Ms. Jujja Wieslander

On 29th November 2017, Ms. Jujja Wieslander, an esteemed children's author from Sweden visited our school.

In the 1980s, together with her husband Tomas and their two children, she created a story about a cow called Mamma Moo who is very lively and curious. Children all around the world can read about this cow that wants to do everything children do. Her books have been translated into 30 different languages. They were published in Croatia for the first time in 2016 when the author presented them at Zagreb Book Festival.

Ms. Wieslander recently created a new character called Vina Vina. He lives in the forest and is very playful and inquiring. The character is used for promoting the life in the forest, for connecting with nature, for experience the great outdoors... A critic in Sweden remarked that these stories are simple, but that they are great art.

Our students did really well during the talk with the author. They asked numerous, interesting questions, and listened attentively. The author was thrilled to answer them, and was noticeably amused. We have copies of her books at our library and hope that students will read them with joy.
